.{baby shower for the Littles}.

.{the guest of honor and mother-to-be: courtney}.
this past week was courtney's shower. when i first found out she was pregnant i couldn't wait to throw her a shower. i was itching to throw one. :) courtney is the cuestest pregnant person ever. she's all belly. and i mean that in a good way. from behind you can't even tell she's expecting.  and then her perfectly round little bump appears when she turns sideways.
.{original idea}.

.{smaller insert card}.
.{printable coming soon}.

the shower was four days after we got back from europe. my original design for the invites looked something like what you see above and was to be done with a letter press.  however, the letter press did not cooperate.  i don't have a picture of the actual invite which lexi did.  they are so cute. i will try and get a picture up soon.

so i took the idea of ditching a card and giving a book instead from my sister's shower we did a few years ago. it was great. court didn't get multiple books :).  it was fun to reminisce through the different titles and such. i can't take credit for the poem as i found it as i searched the web for ideas and inspirations.

my mother-in-law is a party thrower. and she's AMAZING at it.  i was a little intimidated in taking the reins on this one since she's so GREAT at what she does.  but she exercised confidence in me and my ideas and helped out when i started to get frazzled. which wasn't too often, but enough. i work tuesday, wednesday, and thursday during the week until 5:30 and it makes it difficult to get up to their house to set up and plan, etc.
in the end it came together nicely. here are some pictures from the shindig. the photos were taken with our cannon 60 and a 50mm f/1.4 USM. color curve correction was done with photoshop elements. i'm a amateur, obviously :).
.{sewed the runner. fabric is from hobby lobby}.

.{yummy tomatoes waiting to be filled with bow tie pasta salad by robyn}.

.{the center piece for the whole shower. this was my gift to baby little. it's a diaper, onesie, and wash cloth cake}.
.{hand painted the letters and cut the rest from the cricut}.
.{sugar cookie favors with a onesie cookie cutter}.
.{i made vanilla cupcakes. the green ones have edible buttons and they are filled with Bavarian cream.
the periwinkle ones are plain vanilla}.
.{robyn's delicious bowtie chicken salad}.

.{sewed another runner. again, fabric is from hobby lobby}.

.{dessert bar}.

.{blueberry and peach parfaits}.

.{the table. my mother has been giving me white serving ware since i don't know when and it finally paid off}.

.{vicki's gift. i love the personalized cover!}.
.{getting ready to frost all the cookies}.

.{my kitchen was covered in frosting for two days}.

.{robyn found these great blue cream sodas at bevmo}.

thank you to courtney and austin for having a baby and letting me throw you a shower. thanks to lexi for being a great co-host and helper. robyn you are so great and i hope to learn more from you and the help with the food was much appreciated. and jacks for running errands with me and letting me bounce ideas off you. and of course bry for being patient as our kitchen turned into a blue frosted mess. :)

Jen you are just too good. Sewing runners, painting wooden letters. I mean you provided her with full decore for the nursery! The food looks amazing. Good job.

thanks cam! it was so much fun. i'm addicted. it would be great to do this all the time, aka party plan, but sadly it's back to real life and a cleaner house :).

everytime i see pictures of the food you make...my mouth starts salivating. no joke. i don't know if you just know how to take some dang good food pictures or what, but man, it looks so perfect!! i think i would probably stare at those cupcakes and cookies for half an hour before i decided to eat it. way to use your talents! oh another thing...what kind of camera is that again that you have? do you like it? we want to get a good "professional" digital camera before the babes comes.

Can you please do a baby shower for me when I have a second baby? =) D.A.R.L.I.N.G. You need to be a party planner. That would be my DREAM job.
