.{hilly holbrook}.

I am in LOVE with The Help. Best movie this summer-hands down. Everyone must read this book and everyone must see this movie! This book has changed me. It is one of those books that makes you want to be a better person after reading it.  Outside of the Scriptures and other gospel related works, there are few books that have impacted me.

This past week I have had an unfortunate experience with a Hilly Holbrook type character in my life. As events have transpired I can't help but make connections between this fictional character and someone who embodies her.  Do you have a Hilly in your life? What do you do to rise above the way you feel when you are around them? Where do you find the courage to stand up to them? How do you keep them from chipping away at your self worth?

That's when you say to yourself, "you are smart.... you are kind... you are important..." Also, remember people who are usually mean like Hilly thrive on drama and are uneducated in the ways of the world. Think of it only as a trial for you, a skip in your step if you will, and for her a hard way to learn an easy lesson. Some people just don't pick up on things, I have had similar experiences, hold your head high and know you are smart, important, beautiful, witty, kind, outgoing, and creative.
